At July 6 extraordinary session, the National Assembly in the first reading debated the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on State Property Privatisation Programme for 2017-2020.
As the Chairman of the RA State Property Management Committee Arnak Avetisyan assured, it is proposed to include the closed joint stock companies Armenicum and Her-Her Hydroelectric Power Plant having state share in the list of the privatisation entities for 2017-2020.
It was noted that the activity of Her-Her Hydroelectric Power Plant is not considered as monopolistic. The majority of the Hydroelectric Power Plants is private, and there are no restrictions of keeping the shares of the Company under the property of the state.
Regarding the Armenicum CJSC, the laws regulating the service do not ban the rendering of the same service by other organisations.
In her co-speech the member of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Tsovinar Vardanyan noted that the aim of the bill is the rise of the efficiency of the activities of the companies through privatization.
The parliament passed the draft in the first reading.
